Podurama Podcast App

Before we get to the good stuff, I will begin with a quick disclaimer that for the past few months, I have been fortunate enough to share my expertise with the design & data science team at Podurama. And now I can’t wait to share some of its amazing features with y’all!
Note: Podurama app is available on
iOS, Android, Windows10, and macOS.

Podcasts have been my go-to place for de-straining my eyes after a long day of ogling at the computer screen and for escaping the imposter syndrome (which I am sure all data scientists experience at least once a day). I’ve had a decent experience with some existing apps but none as impressive as Podurama — which I like to call the “ swiss knife of podcast apps.

Podurama was designed out of necessity and after conducting thousands of surveys with podcast listeners. Incorporating the most important features and discarding the rest, its ultimate goal is to enhance your listening & browsing experience to the fullest.

If you are searching for a great podcast app, look no further than Podurama which hosts over 2.5 million podcasts and 50 million episodes. Early users get lifetime FREE data sync on unlimited mobile and desktop devices. And here are six other cool reasons to convince you:

1. Mark All as Played

Planning to move your podcasts from another app to Podurama and worried about marking podcasts you have already listened to?

Worry not: Podurama won’t ask you to individually mark them as played. Instead, head over to the podcast page, click on the three white dots, and select the Mark All as Played option.

Pro-tip: You can even mark them individually, if that’s what you’d like, with the Bulk Edit Episodes option.

2. Create collaborative playlists

Sharing is caring and that’s why Podurama allows you and your friends to team up to create the ultimate playlist. Be it a meditation playlist you create with your mum, or a data science playlist with your colleagues, there’s something for every occasion.

Because these playlists are shared privately between you and your friends, rest assured no prankster can mess with them.

Pro-tip: You can even convert an existing playlist into a collaborative playlist by heading to the Playlists tab under Library→ select the playlist → click on three dots→ Turn into Collaborative playlist.

3. Use Tags to organize your podcasts

No one likes a messy app and app developers couldn’t agree more. Podurama lets you organize podcasts into folders i.e. tags. This helps with segregating podcasts you only like listening on way to work, at the gym, or when you’re about to fall asleep.

To specify a tag for a podcast, simply head over to the podcast page →Settings → Tags →New Tag (or select an existing tag). As you can see below, I currently have a Tag called Medium podcasts which is a collection of podcasts I would highly recommend to anyone remotely interested in ML, AI, and Data Science (let me know if you’d like me to share the tag link).

Note: You must follow the podcast before adding a customized tag for it.

Pro-tip: Upon clicking the Organize button on the homepage, you should be able to see all your custom-created tags.

4. Featured Lists & Curated Collections

Not sure what to listen to? Why not leave it to the experts?

Podurama avails the assistance of expert curators and editors who handpick podcasts based on market research. Each week, they bring you curated lists of podcasts based on your podcast interests and listening history. Simply scroll down on the Home page to check out — Featured Lists For You & Curated Collections.

I personally look forward to the Best Future Tech Podcasts each week to keep abreast of the latest developments in the AI field.

5. Auto Playlists

Tired of manually adding episodes to playlists?

Podurama supports Auto Playlists that automatically add the latest released episodes of your favorite podcasts. Go to Library → New Playlist → Auto Playlist → Select Podcasts.

What’s more — you can even prioritize their spot in the queue based on the release date or podcast itself and decide the maximum number of episodes you want to include from each podcast.

6. Bookmark an episode

Ever felt like saving a timestamp in an episode for future reference? Perhaps you want to remember information mentioned during the podcast and google it later. With Podurama, you can now bookmark your episodes just like you bookmark a website.

Fun fact: This was the most requested feature in the pre-survey questionnaires.

Pro-tip: All your bookmarks reside in the Library → Bookmarks tab.

Parting Thoughts

I’ve barely scratched the tip of the iceberg with these features. There are others like note-taking, tag sharing, genre settings, etc. but I am going to leave them for you to explore on your own.

For both avid and occasional listeners: I am sure you are going to enjoy the app but you shouldn’t take my word for it. Do give it a try and if you like it, show them some ❤️ on App Store.

For podcast creators: Spread the 💌 and Podurama will help you take your podcast to an even bigger audience. If you'd like to know more, do get in touch with support@podurama.com.
