Hi Yang. The de-trended data is often used as another feature for time series modeling as I mentioned in my second post. Also, some models (like ARIMA) require your data to be de-trended before they can be fed as input. In this case, it is important to remember that once you have done the forecasting for next few days, you have to add the trend component back to the model output to obtain an accurate value.
